The Harley Race Wrestling Academy will hold its next Open Pro Wrestling Tryout on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the Harley Race Wrestling Academy in Troy, Missouri. If you have ever wanted to step inside a professional wrestling ring and find out what it takes to begin training, this is your opportunity.
This tryout is designed to introduce prospective students to the physical, mental, and professional expectations that come with training to become a professional wrestler. Participants will be evaluated while also getting a better understanding of what the first steps of that journey actually look like.
This tryout will also feature WLW alumnus and former WLW Heavyweight Champion “Dangerous” Derek McQuinn. Derek will be incorporating principles from his book, Road to the Ring, into portions of the tryout. The book was written to help aspiring professional wrestlers better prepare for wrestling school tryouts, understand what is expected once training begins, and approach their development with the right mindset.
Rather than simply testing athletic ability, the September 8 tryout will give participants insight into some of the preparation, discipline, and expectations involved in beginning a career in professional wrestling.
